The special golf grip is designed with a recessed spiral groove that houses hook Velcro such that the hooks are discreetly flush with the surface. At 25 years of age, inventor and owner of Quantum Grip, Patrick Pinkart sustained a broken neck and spinal cord injury when he made a "bad dive" from a pier into a shallow lake. Three vertebras in his neck were fractured, including a "burst fracture" of the 6th cervical vertebra. His doctors gave him a 5 % chance to ever walk again or use his hands.
Following years of intensive therapy, Patrick regained the ability to walk, but leg strength, balance and agility challenges remained. He was also left with limited hand strength and hand function. With the desire to play golf again, Patrick attempted, but was left frustrated as his grip strength was not sufficient enough to hold the club firmly.
An exhaustive search of the golf market for assistive devices to help enhance his grip turned up nothing of any real, practical help - pushing his motivation to develop a revolutionary product that would help the injured and disabled enjoy the game of golf...again.
Quantum Grip provides a solution to golfers that would like to enhance their grip, or get back in the game after an injury, while improving comfort, control and power by eliminating slippage and magnifying gripping power. Clutching the handle of a golf club for any length of time can be both physically challenging and exhausting for golfers with aliments contributing to decreased grip strength; such as arthritis, stroke, spinal cord injuries or general hand weakness.
